Maybe I don’t know Dead Can Dance band very well. After all, it is a bit old, and I could not follow it from the very beginning. When I heard the song “Opium” from the latest album for the first time – I was hypnotized. It lasts till now.

FOR LONELY EVENINGS

I associate the songs of Dead Can Dance (especially those from the Anastasis album) with loneliness. What is more, I can’t listen to them in the presence of others. I have to be alone to be able to completely surrender to the sounds. They fill in every cell of my body.

HYPNOTIZING MEN’S VOCAL

Certainly, everyone associates the song Now We Are Free with Gladiator, where Gerrard enchants everyone with her contralto voice. In fact, I also heard about her in this way. I was curious to see who was performing the extremely mesmerizing song from the album AnastasisAnabasis.I couldn’t believe that she was that person. The world is much smaller than we think …

MUSIC IMBUED WITH ORIENT

I think that the music created by Perry and Gerrard is inspired by eastern, exotic sounds. The use of traditional Arabic instruments such as darbuka, oud or dulcimer evokes strictly oriental associations and at the same time ancient Egypt or Greece …
